William Not Joining The Revamped Version Of The Selection |
It has been confirmed today that William won’t be joining the revamped version of The Selection. Via Hypable.com:
The Selection is one of the most anticipated pilots of the 2013 fall season. It is based on the YA novel by Kiera Cass, and takes place 300 years in the future where the protagonist, America Singer, is entered into a reality-TV style competition to win the hand of the young Prince Maxon.
The television adaptation was originally planned for the 2012 season and a pilot episode was filmed, but this was rejected by The CW. Now, the script (written by Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain) has received a major overhaul and a new pilot is going to be filmed, but it’ll be with a completely new set of actors.
According to Deadline, the only actor reprising his role from the original pilot is Sean Patrick Thomas, who will play Sylvan Santos, the Queen’s close advisor. CW fans might remember him from Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Ringer, where he played Solomon.
Originally, Aimee Teegarden had been cast as the lead character America, and there was talk of her reprising her role in the new version, but seeing as she has now joined another new CW drama, Oxygen, it looks like she’ll not be returning to The Selection after all.
Narnia actor William Moseley was also a part of the original pilot, playing the role of America’s boyfriend Aspen, but he will not be returning for the revamped pilot either.
What do you guys think? Are you still looking forward to see the show?

Make-A-Wish Foundation + Perception Appearance |
Thanks to Kare for finding this old article about William hanging out with fans for the Make-A-Wish Foundation:
Diane wished to meet British actor and star of The Chronicles of Narnia, William Moseley. The morning of her wish day, Diane, her father, Tri, and thirteen year old sister, Darleen, were buzzing with excitement. They talked eagerly about Diane’s crush, who they would soon meet for lunch at the exclusive, members-only club restaurant, SoHo house, in West Hollywood.
When the limo pulled up to the restaurant, William was already there to greet Diane and her family. He was animated, funny and absolutely engaging and Diane hung on every word with a sweet grin permanently affixed to her face. He presented her with a sweet silver-star charm necklace that made Diane light up with joy. The star could not have been a more appropriate gift being that it’s the Make-A-Wish symbol. William gleamed with pride because this was his thought and consideration when handpicking it out for her.
Also William made a brief appearance on the TV show Perception yesterday. If you have a video from the appearance, please feel free to send them our way. We’d love to see it!

During filming earlier this week, William, 25, was actually struck by lightning! But no need to worry, he’s okay!
“Hi everyone, yeah I am fine. I was struck by lightning on the arm and am doing fine now. It was very traumatic…It came through the roof and struck nine other crew members. I feel very lucky to be alive. I’ve learned a lot from this experience,” William wrote on Twitter.

The Hollywood Reporter Interview |
William was interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter (THR) regarding the lightning incident:
COLOGNE, Germany – British actor William Moseley, best known for his role as Peter Pevensie in the Chronicles of Narnia films, was hit by lightning during the shoot for his new film, The Silent Mountain.
Moseley plays a young Austrian solider about to get married to his betrothed Francesca (played by Eugenia Costantini) as Europe descends into World War I. Claudia Cardinale also stars.
Moseley and nine other Silent Mountain crew members, including camerawoman Daniela Knapp, were injured while filming a scene on location in the Dolomite Mountains of Northern Italy.
“We were filming in one of the original WW1 huts the Austrian soldiers had been positioned in,” Moseley said. “The camera rolled, all was quiet when suddenly a lightning bolt came through the roofs of two huts and struck nine of the crew and myself.”

The Silent Mountain Article |
Thanks to Kare for posting this new article about The Silent Mountain which features a new still from the movie:
Five years after the success of the tragic Californian tale South of Pico and after last year’s documentary Global Warning, Austrian filmmaker Ernst Gossner is once again directing a fiction film. Since June 16, he has been shooting The Silent Mountain, a drama about the impact of the First World War on the inhabitants of the mountains between Austria and Italy, in his native region of South Tyrol.
Written by screenwriter Clemens Aufderklamm, the film’s story opens in 1915 with a couple in love: Andreas, a young Tyrolean played by William Moseley (who appeared in all three instalments of The Chronicles of Narnia), and Francesca (Eugenia Costantini from trans-Alpine television series Boris), a 17-year-old Italian girl from the neighbouring Dolomites. But their blossoming love affair is suddenly interrupted when Andreas is drafted up to join the army, after Italy declares war on Austria. This Alpine border region soon becomes the setting for tragedy, as neighbours become enemies, families are divided, and lovers are separated. The film’s prestigious cast includes Italian star Claudia Cardinale (see the photo, taken on the film set last week), Corrado Invernizzi (the doctor in Vincere [trailer, film focus] by Marco Bellocchio), as well as Austrian actors Fritz Karl and Emily Cox (Rammbock: Berlin Undead [trailer]).
